Red Corn Southern Style Grits

Red Corn Southern Style Grits 

2 1/2 cups water
1/2 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 cup Great Minds Organics Non-GMO Red Corn Grits
2 tbsp unsalted butter

In a saucepan combine water and salt and bring to a boil. Sprinkle in grits while stirring then bring back to boiling. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook. Be sure to stir and scrape the bottom well every few minutes to prevent crusting or burning on the bottom of the pan. Do this until you reach the desired consistency. 
30 minutes: Runny and slightly gritty
45 minutes: thick and creamy 
1 hour: stiff and able to hold shape 
If the grits become too stiff for your liking, add more water 1 tbsp at a time
Once desired consistency is reached, mix in butter and stir until fully incorporated. Remove from heat and serve when cooled. Share and Enjoy!
(Grits will thicken the longer they sit)
